2009 Tournaments

Tuesday tournaments will be played every week with 9 and 18 hole gross and net flighted competitions and gross skins. You may play any time on Tuesday but we do require that you play with another club member or someone from the pro shop. This is a Tuesday league. Please don’t ask if you can play on any other day.

Each month there will be one random “fun” tournament format such as a one man scramble. 

Tee Format

0-5.9 Black
6-13.9 Blue
14+ White

Handicap Format

Player handicaps will be calculated based on the five previous nine hole rounds played. The best and worst score will be excluded and the average of the three remaining scores will be the player’s handicap.

Handicaps are dynamically calculated after each round. Be sure to check your handicap to insure you’re playing from the proper tee.

New players will start the league with an estimated handicap. If an estimated handicap is not written on the signup sheet, the player will start out as a zero.

Golf Rules

The River Oaks Men’s Association plays by the rules of golf! There is NO such thing as a “gimme” or a “mulligan.” Please finish out all holes by “putting out” or you will be disqualified.

There are a lot of lateral hazards and OB areas on the course so please study up on the proper drop area for your errant shots! If there is confusion as to how to proceed in a particular situation, play two balls and finish the hole. Then check with Guy Lester (pro shop) or Tony Korologos regarding the decision.

Score Cards

Score cards must be properly scored, signed and attested. Scorecards must be printed CLEARLY! Unreadable scorecards or scorecards with incomplete names (i.e. “Bob”), and incorrect scorecards will be disqualified.

Rulings

All ruling decisions made by the men’s club board are final. If you have a problem with the results, please contact Tony as soon as possible.

Season

The season Starts March 3rd, weather permitting, and ends on October 27th with the annual Hell Day tournament and awards dinner.

Club Championship

The club championship will be a two day, 36 hole gross & net tournament. Day one of the club championship is Tuesday the 18th of August and day two is Tuesday the 25th of August. The “gross” or champ flight winner will represent our club at the UGA Tournament of champions.
